The TI-83 Plus graphics calculator is a central part of the MU120 course, and you will not be able to do the course without one. The Open University has negotiated for Oxford Educational Supplies Limited to supply the calculator to MU 120 students. 

The TI-83 Plus has a large memory capacity and has the capabilty of downloading special programs called "Apps".  The TI-83 Plus is available at £65 (including VAT and postage and packing in the EU).

It should be noted that the TI-83 Plus models is not generally available on the high street but where it is it may be priced considerably higher than the OES prices quoted above.

You are advised to place your order as soon as possible as you are expected to start using the calculator as part of your preparatory work on the course.

Please note that you do not need to purchase Tapping into Mathematics with the TI-83 graphics calculator from OES or any other supplier, as this complete book will be sent to you with the first course mailing. The book will teach you how to use the TI-83 calculator from scratch.

All new calculators come with batteries supplied. Further sets of batteries can be purchased in the high street or ordered from Oxford Educational Supplies Limited (usually with 24 hour delivery) at the favorable rate of £2 per set including VAT and postage and packing.
